((New story-telling style now. From both Targie's and Dozuka's viewpoints, I'm pretty sure they'll be alternating with each set of two at the same time. Except at "Crossroads" where they meet in which case I'll build that bridge when I get to it))

Ha ha I made quite a bang... must have terrified Lucas.

I wonder if all extractions are this bad, never actually witnessed it from the Real after all, 'nor from my own viewpoint. Nothing but a big loud crack and then I'm on the floor with blood pouring out of my "arm".
Ha wasn't really an arm anymore... more like a stick of muscle with an hand attached on the end, fortunately it quickly went numb, would have been a lot easier to just let myself pass out I suppose. Ha, yeah right. I'm far too stubborn for that.

Took about 5 minutes for Lucas to turn his head in, odd because he's normally pretty arrogant. Would be first to knock the door down usually... guess he just got the chills. Ha he burst in and just stood there looking at me on the floor before he spoke, couldn't even maintain his normal sub zero pitch when he saw me.

"Targie!? What's wrong with your arm?"

Ha ha, he sees me bleeding to death and he asks what is wrong? Kinda weird if you ask me, naturally I was pretty hasty in my response...

"Quit asking about my arm! How far are we from 01 damnit!? I can find something to get my arm wrapped up there!"

As cool as he wanted to keep himself my tone was hardly friendly...

"Erm... about 4 hours away..."

"Well quit standing around and get a move on!"

"R-Right away"

He hurried himself back into the room, probably to adjust the auto-pilots thrust output, so I just sat there trying to stay awake. My outburst had done me no favours, all it did was cause my blood to circulate more violently meaning I was losing more by the second. Everything gradually became a blur, fading pretty quickly, no doubt about it... I was going down.

Something kept ringing in my head, I had an uncontrollable wish to stay awake, it was as if my death had amplified my survival instincts... they weren't about to leave anything to chance, so I was awake... my arm had lost it's numbness and the pain kicked in... I could do nothing but struggle against it, so that's all that I did...

((Do not like how this came out at all, might get better as I go along... I dunno))

I'll kill him... He can bleed every vein and artery in my body until they're dry... He can break any bones he wants, he can shoot me until I'm a slice of cheese on the floor... I'll kill him...

I took one last look at the dead bodies around me... my friends... gone in a second. How could I let him get away? I could see he was afraid... he'd have put up no resistance... it would have been instant vengence... but I couldn't...

I collected myself together, holstered the handgun belonging to my former captain throwing away my own in the process.

The phone rang, it was my operator. I'm stuck teaching myself the ways of the world now... still I'm adjusting.

I had nothing to do but leave at this point... I had nothing left now, just a little pent-up rage and adrenaline.

I exited the building and found myself in Tabor Park before I got another phone call, apparently her name was Tyndall from Zion. Supposedly she was going to help me get to grips with the system and help me kill the man who killed my friends. I still don't know how she knew what was going on but I went along with it.

Exiles... renegade programs of the system, these were my targets, no blood no flesh. Easy pickings... I improved, I became stronger, I became faster. I was ready. I was untouchable.

((Happy B-day me!... erm... Yay!))

So after what seemed like weeks of agony and resistance I got "patched up" if you could call it that. To be honest it's kind of a shoddy job... though I can't expect anything more can I? It's just bandaged up a little to keep the blood in one place and keep the pressure on it.

All I can do is keep drugged up on morphine and adrenaline to prevent pain and blood loss, alas it'll do for now... I guess.

I've recently become aware of something that seems to make perfect sense, war is a system... My discovery meant that Lucas got a new job ha ha, discussing the matter with him he seemed to think what I said made sense too, though it could be blind loyalty by now, the conversation was pretty simplistic...

"So basically as long as we're in Zero One I need you to listen to everything that people are discussing, anything that could be remotely interesting I want you to keep a note of it and report it back, everything is based on information from now on. As soon as we leave Zero One I need you to gain access to any outgoing broadcasts from anywhere you can and do the same."

Heh Lucas didn't look to happy with the extra work at first, put then a glint jumped into his eye.

"So you want me to be a street ear eh? Well I doubt I'll have any leads for a while... what are you gonna do in the meantime?"

"Heh you think I'd just show up without a lead of my own? I already know who the first test will be, we need to start on small scale, then we can begin recruiting... finally we can take care of this damned war once and for all."

"Right then, I'll reconnect the comms system with the Onesimus and start hunting around"

The thought hit me like a stick, if I'm going to confront her odds are I'm going to have some kind of outside interference,

"Lucas, The street ear game will have to wait, I need you watching over me whilst I jack in, got a feeling things aren't going to go too smoothly... especially being dead and all"

"Hmm, right let's get it out the way then"

((This post and the above are one part, I figured they should be split to stop it dragging on too much))

Back in the simulation again... I took a few jabs at the air, my arm is actually usable in here, this should do me some favours.

My phone rang, it was Lucas.

"Right, you're stable. Her current target is located in a building pretty close to you... machine protected, you have about 15 minutes until she arrives there."

Infiltration... I can't leave any traces of my entrance, I should have clearance so I can just walk in, though it could create quite a stir if they find out who I am... I'll have to be careful.

Took me no more than two minutes to arrive, a disguise would have faltered me so I tipped down my hat, kept my head down and walked through the front door.

Naturally it didn't take long for me to find three handguns pointed at me, they must have known that somebody was coming, one of them was quick to start blurting out orders,

"Who are you!? Why are you here!?"

I kept the coolest demeanour I could with my reply.

"I'm above you, my business is of no concern of yours"

"This is my locale! Nobody is above me unless they were given orders! Show me identification or we'll shoot you here and now"

"Ha ha, fool. I have all area access, you do your job well, just be careful about how you address your superiors"

One of the men removed his hand from his earpiece and spoke to the so called "leader"

"He checks out, we can't tell who he is but he's a high ranked machinist officer, he has clearance"

They all lowered their weapons and I was free to walk through, I found myself a nice corner to wait in and... waited.

Go from A to B, kill exiles, collect info go from B to C, kill exiles, collect info, go from C to D, kill target, go home.

I grow tired of this tediousness... nothing interesting happens on these assignments. I'm not posed any challenge I just have to waltz in, you'd think they'd give me something more difficult by now but nope. Still every fight is a learning experience which brings us closer to my own goals and eradicating the damned exiles and machinists.

My phone rang, it was Tyndall... telling me to walk 400 meters to point A, so in good will from the caring loyalty in my heart I walked, made my way to point A kicked the door down in a tremendously cool fashion, jumped in armed with my comrade's old firearm to be met with... nothing.

Nothing... I went through an epic entry, built up some tension to find an empty lobby with no doors or elevators... Naturally my first reaction was to calmly ask Tyndall why it was empty, so I reached for my phone.

"Hey, this place is empty... What's going on?"

"Yeah I know, I'm sending you the co-ordinates to your final destination now"

"Huh? What do you mean you know!?"

"I know it's empty..."

"Then why did you send me here!?"

"Zion feels that it's operatives should learn as much as possible"

"What do I learn by walking into an empty room!?"

"Complete your mission operative"

I was met with an irritating tone which came from my phone ((>.> >.<))

"Complete my mission!? Grrr... Just like that then huh? Send me to a freaking empty room with no sign of life, on purpose... then tell me to go somewhere they had the location of in the first place?"

So I started making my way down to my destination to "complete my mission"

Dozuka waltzed on in through the door as if expecting the place to be empty again, she was met with 3 machinist operatives all staring at her, on edge with their weapons at the ready.

She drew her own firearm and then froze, these were humans, not exiles, 3 gunshots were fired but instead of dying Dozuka saw the three men in front of her lay on the floor, lifeless.

Dozuka, confused looked around before spotting a man in the corner, holding a handgun which was expelling a whispy grey smoke.

Dozuka quickly noticed who it was and her eyes flared as she shouted
"Y-You!?"

Targie tipped his hat up revealing his face with a clearly forced smile.
"Hiya"

Dozuka forcefully pointed her weapon at Targie, he continued to smile and shouted across the room as he gradually walked forward.

"You've tried this before remember? You can't shoot another human, it's not in you."

"No... But I can fight!"

"Ha ha. Fight? What for? Nobody can fight without a purpose"

"The reasons I fight are of no concern of yours, Machinist scum!"

On the drop of the word she sprinted forward, with the same speed Targie had seen last time they met he was quickly forced onto the defensive. As Dozuka began to unleash rushes of punches and kicks Targie was pushed back as he parried them.

Seizing his oppurtunity he grabbed one of her arms, utilised her shoulder to lock it and then disarmed her of the firearm she hadn't holstered.

"This is the same handgun you tried to shoot me with last time... Hoping to avenge your fallen comrades perhaps?"

"Quiet!"

"Heh heh
Alas in blood the young girl stands, her fallen fathers sword in hand"

Targie released Dozuka and she quickly hopped out of distance. Targie's musing and reciting had angered her making her techniques much more predictable.

"And so the young girl stands, Now a woman with sword in hand"

"Damn you! Shut up!"

Dozuka rushed in again, Targie again parried every blow and knocked her to the floor, towering over her Targie mused again.

"At last the two swords clash, Her fathers sword say nay to a crash "

Dozuka let out a sweep from the ground which Targie deftly hopped over creating a large gap between Dozuka and himself.

"And so the woman lay on the ground, her fathers lost cries... the only sound

The woman's petty hopes of "vengeance" by using her fathers worn and old weapon in the end caused her own death leaving her father to lay restless for all of time... whilst her death was not the end the rest is for another day"

Dozuka jumped up, her eyes now burning in a blood red shouted across to Targie.

"I will get my answers!"

((I'm awfully poetic don't ya think? Heh heh I want to make it a key theme but it could be more complicated than I'm hoping))
